MELTEM ÜLDES
1976 Istanbul, Turkey
PhD in Art History from Istanbul University, art studies in France, USA and Turkey.
She has worked as an academic at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Halic University in Istanbul. Since 2017 she has lived in Palermo (Italy), where she works as a teacher and writes reviews and articles in art magazines.
Her art has adorned galleries in Turkey, Norway, Spain and elsewhere, showing her ability to communicate universally through visual language. Her works, small in format (mixed media), often made on paper (collage) as a means of expression, are a critique of the society where she has lived (Turkey) and lives (Sicily).
Words from the artist: “In these works you will see the melted soul of an artist who sadly watches humanity fall into the pit it itself has dug.”
